Water ?

“You should leave. You look tired. I’ll manage to get a bus to Rajkot.” I said to my elder brother Milan, who came with me to get me a bus from Ahmadabad to Rajkot. It was a nice sunny morning, with some clouds, spread like butter on a bread. We were waiting at iscon mall, for a ST bus to reach Rajkot. It was almost one hour and no bus arrived there for Rajkot. I was a little bit worried, because I had some assignments left undone from the college work. I was thinking that how will I get there (Rajkot) and suddenly Milan shouted “Here comes Ahmadabad – Rajkot intercity.” “Yeah, let’s move! “ I said in hurry and tried to get my heavy bag on my shoulders as fast as possible and ran towards the bus. “Damn, it’s full again.” Milan said. And I stopped there and threw the bag down in anger. “Shit…..What the hell is happening?” I was really angry when another bus went without taking any passenger from there. “I don’t know yaar, but…..” “But….what?” “If you don’t mind, can I leave? “ Milan cried, looked tired and drowsy. I asked “what happened?” He replied, “Damn, I am in a hurry and I can’t see any public toilets around here and I don’t want to show the way to our home to every one with yellow signs spread here and there on the road.” “Hahaha, you must leave ASAP”, I said with a grin on my face. It was 8o’clock already and I was still standing at the bus stop.
Finally a bus arrived and I successfully got a window seat. I sent a message to Milan that I finally got the bus, but unfortunately, it was a bus to surendranagar, and from there I had to change the bus for Rajkot. I reached surendranagar at 10:30 am in the morning. As I reached the ST bus stand, I went to INQUIRIES kiosk and asked for the next bus for Rajkot. It was at 11:00 am. I sat there, had some chips for my breakfast. Then finally the bus arrived and again I was on the way to Rajkot.
I generally prefer some nice person to be seated beside me. But unfortunately, a villager, having a turban on his head, sitting very calmly was sitting on the window seat. He was burping very now and then. I though how I will tolerate this? Anyway, the bus started soon and the journey was on. I tried to talk with the person who was sitting beside me. “Hello, Can I know where are you going? Is it Rajkot?” He replied by shaking his head “Yes.”. I said, “Me too”. He smiled and again started looking out of the window. I fell asleep. When I got up, it was 12:30 pm and bus was almost reaching Chotila, where it had to get a halt for some time. I started eating the remaining chips. I was too hungry as I hadn’t eaten anything since morning. When the pack of chips was finished, I opened another pack of Kurkure, an Indian fried food, very popular here. I was eating them without looking here or there. When I finished, I realized that they were too hot and I needed some water. I hadn’t brought water with me. And the bus reached Chotila. The person sitting near the window was gazing out of window. I realized that I hadn’t even offered that man some chips or Kurkure. A waterman came, shouting “Pouch of water, 1 rupee each.” I searched for my wallet to get one rupee coin to get some water from the hawkers walking around the bus. But before I get a coin from my wallet, bus started again. I was really thirsty and the driver woke up my anger. “Bull shit…Why he didn’t stop for a moment?” Suddenly a hand having a pouch of water came before my face. The villager sitting beside me had bought two pouches, and offered one to me while drinking one. I happily accepted and drank the whole pouch. I offered one rupee to that villager. He smiled and said “It was my pleasure dear.” And I was stunned.
